Cloudoffis was founded in 2017 by Viral Kanabar and Manish Sheladia, emerging from a shared passion for technology and a mission to empower accounting practices and auditing firms across Australia with seamless, cloud-based workflows.
At the time, Viral was a partner at his accounting firm, and with 17 years of experience in the Australian accounting industry, he recognised a significant operational gap: while half of the tasks utilised cloud platforms like Xero, Class, and BGL, the other half, such as workpaper preparation and data reconciliation, remained labour-intensive and manual.
He understood that cloud technology could also address persistent IT challenges, such as disaster recovery. What was missing? The right cloud solution.
The co-founders seized the opportunity to revolutionise Australian auditing firms by automating self-managed super fund (SMSF) compliance reviews and audits. They began this transformation with the launch of SMSF Auditomation by Cloudoffis, breathing life into dormant paper files and enabling digital auditing, data processing, and real-time insights. Auditomation by Cloudoffis empowered auditors across Australia to standardise processes, scale their businesses, and devote more time to nurturing client relationships.
As customer acclaim grew alongside sector-wide regulatory changes, auditors began to request Cloudoffis’s support in streamlining collaboration with their accounting clients. Motivated by this demand, the team expanded its focus to automate SMSF processes within the SMSF accounting sector, culminating in the launch of SMSF Sorted in October 2019.
Cloudoffis remains dedicated to its original mission of automating Australia’s accounting and auditing workflows, and the journey is far from over. As adoption of Auditomation and SMSF Sorted grew, the benefits of streamlined operations, enhanced security, and happier teams started to spread and tax accountants inquired about similar solutions for their departments.
In August 2024, we proudly launched Workpapers Sorted, a new workpaper solution designed to streamline processes for accounting firms, enabling them to deliver accurate workpapers for businesses and individuals more efficiently
